Yankees' Cody Bellinger wins AL Platinum Glove as the league's top defensive player.
Per NY Post, the Platinum Glove winner is decided by a fan vote among the league's Gold Glove winners, and Bellinger is the second Yankee to win it after catcher Jose Trevino in 2022. Bellinger played 130 games in the outfield in 2026, 123 of them in left field, and had 21 defensive runs saved, third in baseball. Pete Crow-Armstrong won the National League award.

Nationals reportedly extend center fielder Jacob Young on a four-year, $23 million deal with a fifth-year option.
According to SB Nation, the deal includes an $8 million option for a fifth season, citing a source familiar with the contract. The fan-site writer says the Nationals now have James Wood, Daylen Lile, Dylan Crews and Young under control into the 2030s, which creates a surplus that could be traded. The writer argues a trade of Young is now unlikely, and that Crews has the higher offensive ceiling while Young is the better defender.
