Privacy policy
Last updated November 5, 2026
Thirty & Five is a free daily sports email. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to remove it.
The short version
- Only what it takes. Your email address, teams and time zone: what it takes to send your email. We also count how many emails get opened.
- Never sold. We don't sell or rent your information, and sponsors and advertisers never get your email address.
- Leave any time. Unsubscribe with the link in any email. It takes effect right away.
01What we collect
- Your email address, to send you the newsletter.
- Your teams, to choose which stories you get.
- Your time zone, read from your browser when you sign up, so the email arrives in your morning.
- Your subscription status and dates: when you signed up, whether you've confirmed or unsubscribed, and the date of the last issue we sent you.
- Bounces and spam complaints reported by email providers, so we can stop mailing addresses that don't want or can't receive our email.
- Email opens. Each email contains a tiny image. When your mail app loads it, our email provider records that the email was opened. We keep only totals, such as how many of a day's emails were opened, not which subscribers opened them.
02What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your information.
- We don't give sponsors or advertisers your email address, your teams or anything else that identifies you.
- We don't use cookies, ad trackers or analytics scripts on this site.
- We don't track which links in our emails you click.
- We don't ask for your name, password or payment details.
03Sponsors and ads
Some emails may include a sponsor message or ad, labeled as such. When they do:
- We may tell sponsors totals, such as how many people subscribe or how many emails were opened. We don't tell them who you are.
- An ad's image or link may come from the sponsor's own servers or its ad provider. When your mail app loads that image or you click the link, they can see what any website you visit can, such as your IP address and that the ad was seen or clicked. Their own privacy policies cover that.
04Who helps us run this
- Amazon Web Services hosts this site, stores subscriber records in the United States, and sends our email and records when it's opened, so it processes your email address and, as with any website, your IP address when you visit.
- Datadog receives operational measurements, such as how many emails were sent and opened and whether jobs failed. It doesn't receive your email address or teams.
- Anthropic provides the AI that summarizes the news. It receives published news articles, not information about you.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
05The links in your emails
Links to change your teams or unsubscribe are unique to you, so you don't need a password. They expire: links in a daily email work for 30 days to change your teams and a year to unsubscribe. Until then, anyone you forward an email to could use them, so take care when forwarding.
06How long we keep it
We keep your record while you're subscribed. After you unsubscribe, or if your address bounces or generates a complaint, we keep the record so that we honor that choice and don't mail you again. To have it deleted entirely, email us. Deleted records may remain in our backups for up to 35 days.
07Your choices
- Unsubscribe using the link in any email. It takes effect right away.
- Change your teams using the link in any email.
- Stop opens being counted by turning off automatic image loading in your mail app. That also stops ad images from loading.
- See, correct or delete your information by emailing us.
08Children
Thirty & Five isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the record.
09Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we'll tell you by email first.
